DAY TWO - Reminiscing

I pretty much woke up on my own this time. Well, aside from all the morning racket from everyone that has to work. I'm not feeling nearly as sick as I did yesterday. But still not my best. Lots to do, stuff to buy, etc. The soundtrack for my day had a slight country twang. Sun Kil Moon, some early REM and closing with Wilco and Calexico as I started writing this.

I did some research online, and I figured that I just use Coinstar. I wasn't hitting Vegas anytime soon, and I didn't feel like lugging about 30 pounds of change for a "possible" stop at Reno. The first two mugs (one more that'll I'll do tomorrow) got me a whopping $107 dollars! One mug was ALL PENNIES. Only about $10 in service charges was totally worth it. It would have taken me over an hour just to get the rolls, roll them up, and cash them in at a bank. I thought I was being thrifty cashing in my change. But in front of the line was some woman in her mid 30s with 2 carts of groceries. A constant BEEPING was coming from the cash-register as the cashier scanned a fist full of coupons. From the point I payed attention, i watched the register count down from over $100 to about $30. This lady bought 2 carts of groceries, my guess, saving about $100 if not more. I was AMAZED. I hit several shops looking some necessities for my trip. I got 'almost' everything on my list. I couldn't find a mumu.

There is a song on REM's 'Lifes Rich Pageant', Cuyahoga, that makes me feel sentimental. It nearly brings tears to my eyes when I hear it. Its one of my all time favorite REM songs. It's quite a fitting to for the trip i'm going on. It's almost as fitting at this week's White Ninja:

Picked up a MAG LIGHT, batteries, babywipes, hot wheels, meds, picked out my outfits, and other good stuff. Hot Wheels & some Yo-Yo's i'm getting tomorrow, will be my bartering tools in the wild. Getting up early to finish cleaning & packing, and prepping for the trip. I'll be on the road sometime in the evening.
