neglect

it's pouring right now. I tell people I hate the rain. But what I really hate is the cold. When it rains in LA, it's not like the tropics, it sucks and it's always cold. But not this time. It started raining on Saturday Night. I was at the LA Compression Street Festival. It was awesome. We took our RV, parked about 3 blocks away. We drank and partied back and forth between the party and the RV. It was great. Then it started raining. It was warm, the music on all 4 stages kept spinning. The people kept dancing, soaked to their bones. It was beautiful. The lights and lazers in the rain. Fire dancers. I felt right at home. That's where I was Saturday.

Friday was Hall & Oates at the Universal Amphitheater. This was sort of work. But definitly fun. I had to review the show for Noho LA. It was a cool show. Different. I felt out of place. But I enjoyed it. Then I met my brother and some friends after the show and hit a couple bars. The Red Lion in Silverlake and The Roost in Los Feliz. I had a good time. I discovered Bicycle Kitchen and the Midnight Ridazzzz!!! They are sort of a bicycle club? I don't know. They are similar to the Friday Night Skate that I do occassionally. Only on Bikes... They were all in costume at the Roost. There were bikes outside, everywhere...

Sunday... what the hell did I do sunday? I know I did something that night. Duh, i went to the California Science Center. They have this crazy exposition called Body Worlds. I went with Mancia cousins (Cindy, Karen & Gladys). First I saw The Human Body Imax film. That was interesting and sort of gross. But the human body IS sort of gross when you look inside it... and boy do you look inside of it when you see Body Worlds. Body Worlds is NOT for the feint of heart. I've said it before, i'll say it again. Germans are insane.

Monday I went with Michael and his friends to see Motorcycle Diaries. Such an amazing movie. It's very inspirational. It was a perfect time for me to see it. My life is at a turning point, my eyes have opened, it might also take me 8 year to figure out what to do with my changes. But I know now that changes have happened.

Tonight I went to support my friend Sean and his new band. Sean is one of the closest and best friends I've ever had. He's supported me and my insanity for the last few years. His new band, the Committee of Vultures played at the Joint in west LA. It was fun, michael, maria and jeric came too.

So yeah. There was my long weekend. It's not over, because I have D&D tonight, Hockey on Thursday, then I drive up to San Francisco with my family to visit my Sister. Yep, I've been and continue to be busy. Please don't think I'm neglecting you. I've been sort of neglecting this dland-thingie, but I am trying really hard not to neglect my friends. And that is what last weekend is all about.

This weekend, it's about family.
