this morning's episode was a little late. my brother and I got engulfed by the Band of Brothers DVDs. I have to say, it's probably one of the finest war epic/series ever. we couldnt stop watching it. we watched the first four hours straight through, that's just insane. and we got six more hours to go. f-ing-amazing.

Tom Hanks & Spielberg put together one superior piece of tv-history. it's frightning that it's all true. totally accurate and realistic. (i was in the army, i should know.)

09.11.02 - two am

the disillusioned warrior, part 2

...Once upon a time, there was this shy young man. He would, in this time, develop into a magnificent warrior.

One day, playing a childish prank on a beautiful young enchantress, he accidentally fell in love. Charmed by this woman for several years, he dismissed several other women and occasionally settled for, what he considered at the time, less. Little did he know the girl he was in love with, loved him back. But, they were not mature enough to express it to each other. While not being true to himself, he ultimately hurt others at their expense. But he would not learn from this. Several years later, he became the warrior we know him now as. He would enlist to fight for, what is still today, the greatest kingdom in the world. Thus leaving the girl he loved behind and would never know. During the wars, the warrior met a modest scholar. He met her on a return trip from a distant festival, where the warrior was spending time alone away from his military comrades. She returned interest in the warrior because he gave her attention she was not used to. She fell deeply in love with him and he accepted it in return. But he was not in love with her. He didn't know what to do with her. New to this situation, he hid from her and tried to disappear. She would later find him, half-way across the world and send him letters. she would confess love and regret. He regrets accepting her heart and not giving his in return. He thought from this error he would learn.
